I've played the tune in combos (mostly duets) on my Gibson archtop, but not this arrangement. I just worked this up off a leadsheet I transposed from Eb to C. I haven't written it out yet. I played the head more or less the same every time (similarly, anyway), but the improv section is a bit different every time.
Thanks for the comment, btw, and I did use a needle file in the first and second string slots of the nut to very slightly lower the action of those two strings since this recording.

If your paternal line was from the Scottish Lowlands and ended up in Ulster/N. Ireland, then we might be related. Mc and Mac were pretty much interchangeable. Most people didn't read 350 years ago anyway.

Any plans to record Sagreras Lessons Book 2? Was very impressed with the Book 1 recordings - great for students.
Thanks for the kind word, Mark. I'll likely release them in about two years when books 2-6 become Public Domain. I've already recorded a couple from Book 2.
Brent McPike Book 1, (1922) was published about eight years before Books 2-6.
Would be very interested to hear the other books. I learned to play with the Sagreras method, stopped midway through book 4. Be great to hear the full series - would be some piece of work! Good luck with the project Brent. All the best, Mark

I don't have a tab sheet. I'm a standard notation guy. Why am I a standard notation guy? Here's why: I can show everything in standard notation with written fingering that anyone can show in tab, AND I can play it with my wife reading the melody on the violin or friends reading w/ me on other instruments simultaneously if I want. Roman numerals indicate positions, arabic numeral indicate left hand finger, circles numbers indicate which string. Exception when I like TAB: alternate tunings( not D)
